‘Mango Shower Gel’ Review (AKA- In which I talk about mangoes and then proceed to make myself hungry.)
Today, I’m looking at the 250ml bottle of Mango Shower Gel by The Body Shop. You can usually buy their products in a set, which include different bath or shower products, all in several colours and scents. This is particularly good for me because I can get quite picky with what I use. Not because I have allergies or anything, but just because I’m awkward.
Anyway, I have used different scents of the shower gels and once in a while, the body butters, before. I prefer the shower gels overall. But the Mango one is my favourite, which is why I’m writing this post.
I’ve been using this particular product for a long time, at least a good few years. I was first drawn to it because mangoes are one of my favourite fruits, even though I don’t get to eat them a lot. They seem relatively obscure in my local supermarkets, so it appealed to buy something where I could at least have the smell of mangoes, if not actually be able to eat them.
Also, I can’t remember the last time I ate mango. Clearly, I need to rectify this as soon as I can.
This is the product in all of its pretty splendour. I really love this thing, just in case it was hard to tell. I hardly ever use any other shower gel. Maybe that means I'm missing out on other ones, but this mango one has done me good for a long time now.
The most important thing about this product for me is that it smells nice. It's shower gel, so I’d like to think that makes it pretty important for what odour it will give off. It’s a nice healthy-looking orange colour as well.
Another favourable aspect is that it comes out of the bottle easily. No shaking the bottle for thirty minutes while you use up all the hot water. Thankfully. (My parents have cups of tea to make regularly throughout the day, after all.)
Thirdly, you don’t need much of it. For such a small bottle, you might be forgiven for thinking it would last a month, tops. But, no. One 250ml bottle holds a lot of shower gel. Personally, one bottle can last me up to six months and I do tend to use a lot, because I really love it. I also tend to have one stocked up in a bathroom cupboard somewhere. Or get them given to me as Christmas presents.
The Body Shop’s products are really good for that. On a second side note, the Strawberry shower gel is also quite nice, my usual second choice. The sets make good presents too. I’ve just helped you out a bit with your Christmas shopping for this year. You’re welcome. :)
Finally, they’re quite good value for money. I always buy in store and there, a Mango Shower Gel is £6. Online, it is £5. One reason I like to get them for presents is so I don’t have to spend my own money, because I’m lazy like that. But also because £6 can occasionally be a bit expensive for a university student who has been left with lots of debt after graduation. Yes, I mean me. (I know it was my choice and all, but we won’t go into that now.) Plus, I haven’t yet upgraded myself to online shopping, even as an introvert. I don’t know what my brain is doing to me.
But I digress again. I knew it was a bad idea to write this before eating something.
However, with all of the factors that influence it, I’d say the Mango Shower Gel is definitely good value for money. From what I can see, all of the shower gels that The Body Shop sell are the same prices, regardless of the scent you buy.
So this is a product that I absolutely recommend, for all of the above reasons. Even if the mango scent isn’t something you usually use, I’d suggest at least trying it.
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading. All the best.
Hi, I'm an animal lover and have a degree. You can usually find me either reading or writing. Failing that, I might have actually ventured into the outside world...
