All about BooksThis is the page where I will be discussing what I'm reading, reviewing those books and be open to suggestions to keep adding to my To Be Read pile. Honestly, I'm never going to get through that thing anyway, so the more the merrier.

![]() Today, I'm reviewing a book I've had for a while, heard many things about and have now finally read it. Title: The Wrath and the Dawn Author: Renee Ahdieh Part of a trilogy: No, book 1 in The Wrath and the Dawn duology Original publication date: 12th May 2015 My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars (Read September 2017) As an extra, I did a buddy read for this book with Katherine, a friend on Goodreads and so I'm linking up her blog to this review. Go take a look. I think her review will be going up there soon too. :) https://paperbackdreamer.com/ Well, that was fun, despite my early reservations. Some parts of the plot were similar to the book A Thousand Nights, which I also enjoyed, though that was published later. I really enjoyed the character development and how Khalid and Shazi grew to trust and love each other. Given the circumstances, it was such a slow build which was believable and such a relief from many 'insta-love' romances out there. Despite the things he'd done, I loved that Khalid had such a strong support system going on, including his cousin. But then I also liked how Shazi's family didn't give up on her either, and tried to rescue her- even not always in the right way- despite not knowing she was falling for Khalid. It was shown very clearly how loyalty was important to everyone and no one was willing to compromise that. The plot twists were done well and I think it was enough to warrant the second book, else it would have felt too rushed. An overall, enjoyable 5 stars. As always, comment if you've read it and let me know your thoughts. All the best. :)
